Gold-coloured Oslo Wood floor lamp with green, gimbal-mounted shadeA highlight of Nordic living culture is the Oslo Wood floor lamp, whose lightly structured fabric shade in green contrasts impressively with the simple three-legged frame in gold, not only because of its colour but also because of its mobility. A gimbal ring at the top of the stand ensures that the shade can be swivelled all around and thus aligned completely individually. With this and by regulating the brightness via the built-in dimmer switch, a different atmosphere can always be created. The Oslo Wood floor lamp was designed by Ove Rogne, founder and CEO of Northern. Rogne, who actually worked in management consulting after his master’s degree in economics, was driven by the desire to work more creatively. in 2005, he founded the lighting company Northern Lighting with three friends, and in 2006 he created the award-winning floor lamp Oslo Wood. In 2018, the company, which now also produces furniture and other interior design articles, was renamed Northern.
